CityNet, with Jakarta Research Council (DRD DKI Jakarta), ICLEI, CDP, ArchiCity, and GrEEnAcc, is organizing a series of online sessions on climate leadership, resilience innovations, and carbon finance in September 2020: Sept. 16, 2020; Sept. 23, 2020; Sept. 25, 2020.

The Climate Leadership Program (CLP) is an exclusive series of leadership and peer-based learning sessions that aims to increase the capacities of climate change practitioners in the Asia Pacific with the end view of helping them transform their communities while addressing impacts of climate change.

The sessions will provide a regional platform for further knowledge exchanges of practical tools and tried-and-tested processes for the development of sustainable urban solutions to mitigate impacts of climate change.


General Objectives

  1. To learn and familiarize basic leadership and problem-solving approaches using systems design

thinking while analysing climate-related and post-COVID-19 challenges.

  1. To exchange information and insights on emerging global trends, regional situations on climate change, local innovations, and sustainable urban solutions relative to low carbon and climate financing.
  2. To present different strategies city governments and private sector are implementing relative to low carbon and financing climate adaptation and mitigation activities.
  3. To learn on different prototypes on climate change solutions and build further conversations as to how they can scale up and raise the prospect of replications to other countries.

Sept. 16, 2020 | 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM (KST): General Orientation &Leadership Session: Leading Disruptive Times.

Sept. 23, 2020 | 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM (KST): Sessions on Carbon Finance.

Sept. 25, 2020 | 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM (KST): Sessions on Resilience Innovations and Carbon Trade in the Asia-Pacific.


Target Participants

City mayors, senior city managers, urban planners, environmental officers and key urban leaders and decision makers from public, private and civil society sectors.


Certificate Program

The CLP is an exclusive program but free of charge for those who are interested and committed to complete

the three sessions. However, please note that a general screening application process will be conducted to ensure the quality of the participation and outcome.

A Certificate of Completion to be signed by CityNet and its partner organizations will be given to those who will successfully complete the program. The CLP program will be taught in English.
